Eyes in Mirror!!!!

Today I saw myself in the mirror, I look mature, I look like a man now… The face is still the same but they give unique vibes, asking questions, like this is what it was supposed to be?

Eyes have become a little dull (I have started wearing specs), I don’t really look into them. They scare me; they tell me the truth of my journey… I hide, I run; I laze in the lost past and lost beliefs. I sleep over it, everyday it is the same. I try and then I try and then I again try.

At times it is just such weird silence, it is so weird that it talks to me… at times it is just too much of noise… my eyes hate noise… they have always washed the noise away… and then there is Silence again.

When was I happy? Yes I was, I know. When was I sad? Yes I was, I know. When was I not either? I don’t remember…

It is a journey after all, knowing the unknown and the thing I haven’t learnt is unknowing the known...

When I saw me… the mirror told me, this day won’t be given to you again, you wouldn’t look like this ever again, tomorrow you will have one more gray hair, tomorrow there would be so many less breathe left…

I ask, what is left, what I have not seen, and what would I see more, the mirror is numb, showing me The Me... Guess, I haven’t seen myself enough, Guess it is just me that I have not seen enough, it says I have to see me more.. Day after another, here at the same place!!!

If I had mirrors everywhere what would I fill it with… not me!!!
I would fill it with BELIEF and INNOCENCE to see the real me, Once Again…!

I wait for the Journey… coz this destination is not me!

Vagabond in the search of, I found my land sanguine,

I saw it green and full of hope…

So, I laid a red tent and I put up a stove…

Wafted by winter wind,

I needed a wooden floor to call it home,

So, I built a mansion, with teak wood,

With colorful chandeliers and ceramic bulbs,

I painted the walls with ruby, emerald and pink…

Got a carpet with cream fur of satin…

And a brown swing chair, to rest in peace

Happy and demented, I was living in…

Until I realize, this was the worst it had ever been,

The Storm had started months back,

And would last for months more...

As I peeped out, colorless mural was all I could see…

Ravenous longing and anguished soul…

Colorblind eyes, dying heart and desolate home!

I had now, a house full of ceded dreams…

It is just one of my experiences that I wanted to share.

Today, I wanted to have coffee... so I stopped by this 'street cafe' stall and asked him for a coffee, the shop owner didn't have change of 100 bugs, so I thought let’s try the cheese grilled sandwich and that way the change he will have to return will be manageable for him.

So I ordered for a 45 bugs cheese grilled sandwich, it was prepared with three slices of bread stuffed with fresh vegetables and cheese and some sauces! Three slices of bread with all the stuffed thing was grilled and cut into 4 pieces and served with some ketchup... they looked HUGE... and delicious. As I started consuming it in, after like 3 minutes... and managing to finish two pieces... I was so...totally totally stuffed!!!

But, then I realized my social responsibility of not wasting food... and took 5 more minutes to finish the third piece! God… that was one hell of a task….. and after that… I hit the dead end!

Somehow, my conscience didn't allow me to throw the 4th piece into that big dustbin which was already filled with food wasted by several people, even if I would have tried to throw it there... I guess five more things from the dustbin would have found places outside the dustbin (Ever heard about Law of Cohesion???) but I couldn’t…. I remembered that innocent face.

I was feeling so bad that I started walking down the street towards her. She always used to look at people passing by... with one hand stretched... torn clothes... face filled with mud... and her health, as if she has not eaten since months.

When I showed her the sandwich piece and asked if she wanted it, she replied with a low voice which was barely audible… but I could make out… “Ye kya hai? (What is this?)” I said “khane ka hai (Food)”, I gave that fourth piece, which cost some 11.25 bugs, to her and turned back.

On my way back, I saw a street food vendor, he was cooking Rice and Daal (pulses) and a Curry. I remembered someone telling me… these street food vendors charge 15 bugs for one full plate of food. I was ashamed, I was ashamed at what I had done in past, what I did today… and what I could have done today… I was ashamed of what I had seen when some of my friends do it… what I see everyday happening at several big food joints… huge food courts… restaurants…and so many other places!!

The 10-20-30 bugs food that we waste after already stuffing us with more than the required food, can actually be a full plate meal to someone… someone who has not eaten full stomach in a week!!

Let us think about at least one person… who is hungry… let us not waste those 10-20-30 bugs… let us stop... Think for a minute… whether… there is someone… we see everyday... Who is hungrier than the dust bins…! Let us help them!

Save food… Save life…!!!

Something... actually rushed down my spine as I heard this song, It is 2:30 AM, I was trying to sleep, but sleep would not come, mind flies back to the lost time of 2006. It is so strange, today, I have lost the immense zeal of fighting, fighting for igniting those emotions.

With constant NOs, I kept on trying, I pushed, I pushed, I explained and I explained. Months passed.. every week, I had two answers.. Yes... oh No no.. But I didn't give up, coz I felt no problem is a problem big enough. (I feel 2006 was the foolest year of my life, I shouldn't have done that). Relationships can not work like this, it is so mutual. The zeal need to be there both side.

Not sure if two people, one who always see solutions and the other who always see problems can understand each other. A pre-conceived notion, an ambition, a fear, a pain or a simple problem is individually enough to destroy a relation. So contrary, to what I always used to believe.

I was a fool, yes life gives you few problems including ones which can not be solved, they change the life like one of those volcanic eruptions, and you can see nothing else than the red hot lava all around.

God bless all who are going through those phase of immense try... trying to make a relationship or trying to make a relation run!!!!

It is merely a belief, few beliefs are based on logic, like science... but not all...!

Love is a belief which has no logic, you destroy the relationship of love when you try and find logic of being in Love! The morning spray of deo is love, the bed tea is love, staring God's idol is love, walking in rain is love, looking at starlit night is love, looking at a baby smile is love, the smell of flower is love, holding hand is love, crying laughing is love, creating poetry is love, being alive is love - yes love for life!

I feel blessed, I am still alive, I have all my organs and body parts intact!!

Yes problems will still come, and I may not be able to solve all of them, so accepting few of them the way they are and moving on can also be a solution, those problems may actually decide a new path for our lives, and may give us a new life, which can actually be worth living.

She had decided, she knew it, she got up and turned back and left within 5 minutes. There was no “Bye Gunnu, miss you, love you”, they had lost it long ago, they can’t recollect the time and place, when and where…

There was this weird silence, as she left… she didn’t turn back… He was looking at her footsteps as she rushed out… He felt, he was dreaming… She had not come… this was just another dream, the coffee had gone cold, the table was freezing, the moment was racing, with every second they were going miles away, her each step was a light year…

He couldn’t stop her, he couldn’t make her understand… Life has taxed them again!!!

They felt as if they were strangers, the garland had vanished, the faith had vanished, the future had vanished, the belongingness had vanished, the oath had broken, the entrustment had gone.

I am thunder-stormed with one very important phase in my life (Once Again) - One where life changes, one where vision changes, one where people change, one where priorities change... So many times it has happened earlier!!

So many things not decided... so many things to do... So much to achieve... so much to plan...

There was this tight wrapper around, throughout, do the expected, do what is required... but I feel, I am not set to just keep surviving with all these expectations, I don't know how many I have passed and how many I have failed... But I know there is so much more soil beneath... All what is required is, digging!!

As this Deepawali approaches... it reminds me of, where I was last year... I am still at the same phase of my life... NO CHANGES!!! How can a circumstance just freeze my life like this!!!

So the first thing which I can do is, chalk out a Plan of Change... and run towards executing it.

Driving on NH 37 from Assam to Meghalaya – Garo Hills

I have started taking driving classes, I chose Hyundai – Santro as the car I wanted to learn driving with. Till date I have taken some 5-6 each half an hour driving classes and I already feel like I can drive a truck, at max 10km/hr speed though

We took NH 37 today morning for one of our client visit. We were mesmerized with the green paddy fields, green mountains surrounded by all green tress. It seems the barks of the trees are so shy that they have also turned green due to constant social burden. Yeah absolutely baptized, that’s what they are doing. The whole state of Meghalaya celebrates Christmas more than any other festival. It is such a wonderful part of India. Assam the Green Land with The Giant Brahmaputra, Arunachal the Himalayan foothills and Meghalaya the mix of both. That is what I have been able to witness till now and I am engrossed in the mystery of its history. There is so much more to it than what it seems on face… so much more!

Well! I am diverting from the actual topic and adrenalin rush that I wanted to share!

So, I couldn’t resist but ask Jisku (The cab driver) that I wanted to drive. Yeah I know Highway, only 5-6 driving classes that too Santro, this was Tata Sumo. I tried resisting me, but I have done that through out my life… So many times I have felt to break out… and this was one of those moments… It was just for driving anyways. Jisku showed a lot of confidence in me more than I was feeling inside for me. As I got up on the Power Seat, I felt tall, I could control, only a couple of minutes and I was hitting 60km/hr. I did look at the speedometer and felt proud of myself. It has been my dream – long drive to countryside, with my life beside me, romantic music. As far as I could see it was all green. Jisku had an assorted song compilation of AR Rehman’s composition in a CD. This time it was playing – “Radha Kaise na Jale” from “Lagaan”

As the road started becoming more and more curvy, slanting, I managed really well to keep the speed and swing with it until we exited Assam border and approached Meghalaya border. The security forces had barricaded the road with empty coal tar drums made of tins. While I tried to maintain discipline of the Zig-Zag and was half way between the barricade after swinging left and right as if I was on one of those video game’s power seats, a goat that was resting behind one of those drums, came out to appreciate my driving skills. It was so confidently applauding my full throttle swinging Sumo that it felt I would fly above it, while it will keep appreciating. The confidence in it motivated me to such extreme that I couldn’t pull my leg of the accelerator. As the car felt left alone, not appreciated of its power steering, broad muscular presence; reality stroked both of us (Me and the Goat), me in dismay, it in SHOCK, as the ears of the car kissed the goat. I came down from the pedestal of being M. Schumacher and the Goat suddenly proved my worst enemy. I was terribly shocked that I have killed a GOAT, who kills a goat?

A poor goat, I started cursing myself, why was I so childish to break out, I wish I haven’t broken its bones. I stopped my car went down to meet the goat in person, as the village people started gathering. I felt I am going to be hanged for taking life! The people are pretty serious in this part of the India. It reminded me of the museum, I visited in Shillong. They have displayed statues and pictures of the tribal people of North East. Their statues made in clay, I remember seeing only one or maximum two tribes without a weapon and a pose of killing someone. I could literally feel all the stories of our guide, in the museum, was going to come true today or otherwise there remains only way of survival, the way as explained by Brijesh (the other driver).

Two weeks back we went to Tejpur – North Assam, where brave Brijesh saved a chicken, it was trying to commit suicide by running under our car. Yeah they cross roads when they want to and they don’t like Zebras and so they don’t cross over them. It pretty much seemed like a plot by the local villagers, who keep their live stock tied on the main roads or leave them to roam freely. They train them to find nice car tyres and once they do, they all flock the killer in the car and demand like 3 times the price of the chicken. The idea of asking 3 times the original price. Well!! As it was not a cock it was a chicken, she would have given birth to another chicken that would have again given birth to another chicken and now they have lost all of them. Their logic is simple. Who would not agree to that?

I felt I will have to convince these people and all I know is English, Hindi or Bengali which is like half Assamese. They speak Garo, interacting with them would be like I asking in English for six inches Italian bread, baked, with mozzarella cheese, lettuce, olives, pineapple, cucumber, tomatoes, chillies, mayonnaise and a little bit of ketchup sprinkled with salt and pepper, to a girl serving at a sandwich place in Israel country side. The only option which looked like I had in my hands was to ask them how much? Just tell me how much? I didn’t even want to check if it was he or she. Just tell me how much.

As I walked towards the goat, I could hear it cry as I had destroyed the trust in it. I do not know if it was a miracle or it actually could forgive me. It got up and started walking. More than anything else I was thankful to it. I wanted to hug it but the place was crowded. Jisku suggested we should leave. I happily gave him the hot seat and came back to my original seat.

As we started cruising again, Jisku told us “Sir, if there is a cow crossing the road or strolling on the road one should pass from its behind at cows doesn’t turn back they walk past straight and crosses the road and if there is any goat they have a tendency of turning back and going to the original position so we should pass from its front and if there is a Sardar on the road we should just STOP”

This drive also ended with a lesson and more so ever with a question that why can’t our government starts to fence the highways. There are so many animals dying everyday on these roads all over India. Every one of us keeps seeing such accidents and crushed bodies of animals, who also deserve a life!!!

To my Intermediate Halt!!

It is such a perfect day - Cold Play (playing in my head phone). I am positive as I ride the white liner to home.. thinking about her... Cold play is still singing - "The sky could be blue... could be gray... I don't mind.. without you it is just a waste of time"

I have bought this wonderful watch for her. Well it is the most expensive watch I have bought till date. I am feeling very positive and happy, I have a plan, plan to enjoy my 2nd anniversary, where we would just celebrate togetherness... I don't know if I can do that... but I can try... She has to agree to come and see me in the evening though (The background story.. later).

The wind is gushing into me from the windows, I can barely write due to the jerk in the third last seat of the bus, but it helps when there are hardly any people around. It is like my own world here in this weirdly attached tri-seats!

This reminds me of those rides to office together... well.. only her cell phone had FM and it used to be a sweet tussle, who would be listening to those romantic "Gajab ka hai din" but we were very accommodating with one ear plug each. She used to like it slow and soft and I used to like it loud and hard. I don't think I have left any opportunity to irritate her... that time it used to be swinging the volume to the extremes!

After she went to her parents place (Patience!! - The Background story - later), I couldn't hear FM, so I bought a cell phone... When I entered that shop the first criteria was "Show me a cell phone with FM". After that day I had continuously played FM (Yeah! i am a maniac) when I am on my way to office or when I return home...
They played "Gajab ka hai din" the other day.. I enjoyed... but when I used to look at the people outside.. the traffic... everything seemed to be in hurry.. everything thing seemed running... The song was the same, this time even with both the ear phones but the moment was not freezing time as it used to while sharing one ear plug!!!

They have started excavation for the new metro line in the bypass. The city is towards its max urbanization.

The glasses of the window in the bus beside mine are sweating by air condition inside, everyone sitting inside the bus looks the same, all looking out of the window in the same direction. I have no clue what are they searching... How quite it looks for them! They are all moving to the same location, doing the same thing.... "Waiting...!"

These days I am getting some time to sit back and think, introspect and reflect to my "Journey to the end" during last couple of years. More I try to bring it out here, more I get confused, if I will be able to decipher. Overall, it has been an overwhelming Journey, more than a couple of halfway achievements, and some hiccups.

When I start looking at what I had expected out of myself, Facts and Realities dawn at me. I have made so many mistakes, I have been lazy, I have been ignorant, I have messed up, I have been impulsive, I have got furiously angry, I have not empathized enough, I have not handled situations the way it was expected out of me, I have not met expectations... but above all, I have this constant feeling that I have failed myself, if not anyone else.

Did I give my 100% or was I even trying 10%? I can not freeze the number here... but did I try?

Life will never give me these two years again, for that matter any of my previous years again. If I tried more... I know... I could have been more practical, I could have been less emotional, I could have been proactive, I could have done my homework, I could have controlled my anger, I could have been more compassionate, I could have thought before spilling it out... I know even then it would have created some mess, even then some expectations would still have been hanging mid-way... but above all, I would have felt proud, proud of myself that I gave 100%.

I did try... Yes, I tried... but I was not upto my own expectation... As 2008 is rushing by... I make myself this commitment that I will try... I will try even more...

Lets 2009 end with a loud and firm belief in me, above everyone else who may have endless expectation out of me,

"Yes I gave my 100%... Yes I tried 100%".

Reflections Between two Parallel Mirrors

I dont know but everytime i am out of my room... out of my house... in the roads... eating... looking at someone... looking at sky... looking at buildings... looking at people driving... looking at couples talking... I feel everything is in love... everything is so beautiful... everything is good... everything is becoming good... I feel positive... I feeel there is nothing which is not possible...

I look at the tree which has fallen down becoz of the storm in the VIP road... but there are small shrubs... that are growing just beside it... and I am sure they will be big trees one day...

I look at those sign board... those big hoardings... where there were beautiful ads few days before... but now empty... but yes... with small phone numbers written... asking... call me to make me bright and colourful again... and i know they will be again colourful and bright...

At every trafic signal I see the road ahead... all empty... no cars running... but i know.. this signal would be green again... and there would be many cars... driving down that road....

I see people putting together some bricks, iron, cement... I know there will be houses... malls... I dont know if i might live in any of these houses as well... there would be beautiful homes..where a family will live and die together... in pain in sorrow.. in joy in laughter..

Looking at all these things happening around me... when i think... I get this pic... A man... struggling for his life... A man suffering from pain... A man who has a family... A man who has many responsibilities... A man who has a disease... A man who wanted to complete some unfinished task... A man who wanted to be saved... A man who wanted to visit every city in this world... A man who wanted Happiness... A man who wanted Life... Yes more Life... so that he could do what he wanted to... But he couldnot...

Life is a reflection between two mirrors placed parallely infront of each other... One reflecting Happiness... the other Sorrow... One Giving a way... the other rubbing it away... The one so positive... the other never so...

Every person in this world is placed between these two mirrors... which keeps reflecting... It matters which of these two mirrors have his back...!

Human psychi, first sight, hardly 5 sec and the nature, behavior, perception and tendency are all inside out. One becomes so good with character assassination with time. I completely believe in the 6th sense. The first time you meet a person, you shake hands, and the vibration says it all. The first time you see a person smiling, first time you see the eyes moving, first time you see the neck wobbling, first time you see the eye-brows quivering. I know observation is the only silent and under-paid teacher. Yes it reaches the destination slowly like our own Mr. Tortoise. In recent times I have met quite a few personalities (I feel every person you meet is a personality in themselves), and I couldn’t stop myself then share the different prototypes. I always keep building these prototypes in my brain and I try to update them as and when I meet someone new, yes being unassigned at work helps.

When it comes to meeting a stranger, the place you are in, plays such a momentous role. It is so different; when it is a night club, or on an excursion to Sunderbans, or a library, or a dinner table, or a temple, or in a meeting room and not to forget in office (meeting new colleagues). Every place has its own role to play on your perception about the stranger, offcourse, a temple will not do the trick which a night club will. A dinner table will never do the magic’s of Sunderbans. Though one can always talk about places; it doesn’t matter where you are meeting. But more than anything else, I am concerned about those initial 5 sec. Those 5 sec makes you discover a lot about the person’s grooming; his intentions about few things, his observation skills, which I again want to accentuate, is the biggest teacher in this world (Analogous to observation one also lean towards being lazy and a little less adventurous); his confidence; the most important thing is his belief in you or his assessment of those 5 sec of you as stranger to him; his tolerance; the list is endless.

I remember Kaustav sir emphasizing on it in our GMCS classes, how the interviewer decides subconsciously that this is the person he was looking for, as soon as the interviewee enters the room. How exciting it used to be to learn the facts which were living submerged in the gigantic brain. We all know the Assessment Form is there in everyone’s subconscious; awareness and observation of surroundings helps brain enunciate it. Yeah I had my luck with all the interviewers, who have tried to know me their way including my would-be in-laws.

(Its really tough when two people live in different cities... and when u return to your city after meeting one another, after spending the MOST desired time of your heart... hoping u will again meet soon but that doesnt happen... You wait and wait and wait... and WAIT.....!!!! >>>

Love and Expect then Disappoint and Apart...!!!

We all know this... and dump it in our mind…
Is it the same way we remember neighbor’s name plate at the door? For the moment we see it, else... its all gone, out somewhere in the mind.

People who wish true love...!! Must have been rained with some kind of notion... right in the middle of the night... when they woke up from their deadliest nightmare and only thing they feel is "If there had been true love.. I wouldn't have had this nightmare"

If cloud and rain are the symbols one used to visualize, its Love and compromise that matters..!!!

If you love you have to compromise!! And the level of compromise determines the intensity of Love!

Somewhere there is always a fear of loosing the one you have chosen for your life! People fear loosing.. Let it be a sport or for that sake Life!!!

Am I using the hammer really hard…? Ok! Love is there, have you find it…?? Keep it with you, for your life, don’t let it go… Do whatever possible… If both person have the same feeling (I have found Love) and if both understand (Keep it with You) it…

Human psyche once again did it, and will keep on doing it. It’s so funny. Even when they know what is in there they will ask. They will push it hard, they know nothing will change but they will keep on visiting it. Just like the Fish in the aquarium. She knows world is the same old place, it wont expand even if u roam around, reasons might be many.. food.. yes offcourse!!! but is it only about food.. neh.. there is something more to it… the brain.. which is the leader of stomach.. for that sake…. of every so called organs..

Why am I blabbering so much.. just wanted to share my cookies jar with you..
I have a Cookies jar.. with me at my desk in the office.. the best thing abt it is.. that its empty!!!! My cubical almost faces the entrance gate.. now here starts my story.. I have almost 10 people coming to my place every min.. if some how this number goes down to 5 or 3 I feel like I am not in office… The first question which gums the guys to conversation is “hey you have work.. what are u working on?” interesting isn’t it? People coming and asking about work.. this happens when u are in a new practice.. which is craving for its market and the work is obviously less as compared to well established practices. So back to their question, I answer the same thing to everybody.. explaining abt the job.. sometimes I have to explain the same guy on his 2nd or 3rd or I don’t know how many visit to my anytime hailing cubical… this also helps me.. all that’s negative is positive somewhere…so atleast I am sure abt the work I am doing.
Now whenever some one peeps in they find this tempting can in brown… cookies printed all over.. they cannt keep there hands in their control.. as if they have this magnetic thing going with the can.. they will lift it in full confidence of finding the yummiest cookies inside.. and no sooner than this I find their face grinning.. y? u obviously know y.. and the next question which follows their wide face is “why is this empty can here?” and I love answering them “ I feel someday some of you will feel.. it shouldn’t be kept empty and u people will fill some cookies here.. so that we all can have our share” and 10 out of 10 times they will be answer less…

Now I feel after continuing this for a month or so.. I can put some cookies in it.. ;-) feel like.. till then they will be sure its empty?? What do u say?

Par phir bhie unke deedar ko taraste hain..
Bus yuhin din - raat unka intzaar karte hain..
